Rattery
Do not keep rats by themselves: Rats need cages mates! Rats are social animals and need at least one other cage mate. If they are kept alone they can become stressed and or depressed and that can lead to a shorter life span.
Approved Breeders Only: Most of the rats go to pet homes only but I do have some that go to breeding homes. The ones that do, go to responsible breeders that I know and trust. Only certain rats can be adopted into breeding homes based on many different reasons. If you want my rats as breeders, don't be afraid to ask.
Bring a carrier: When you are coming to pick up your rats bring a carrier I don't have any extra, I do have some for sale myself but if you want a carrier from me let me know a week in advance before you pick up your rats. If it's too late for that there is a pet store right down the street from the meeting spot.
Adoption Application: You must fill out the adoption application to be added to the waitlist. If you haven't filled out an adoption application you can't be added to waitlist which means you can't reserve any rats. Any rats that you're interested in will remain available until your application is approved. The adoption application is on the nursery page.
Going Home: When babies are able to go home at 6 weeks they go home that Saturday. Depending on what day they're born they might be a couple days younger or older than 6 weeks, but just by a day or so. I notify owners what day they turn 6 weeks and what Saturday they can go home weeks in advance. So please make sure you plan ahead and make time to pick up your rats on the given date.
Choosing: When the pictures are sent with all the baby rats available, visiting to pick them out is not allowed. I know choosing your babies off a screen may not be ideal for you, but choosing online is much safer for not only me, but the rats. Once you fill out the application you should receive an email from me saying that I added you to the waitlist and any questions I may have. Depending on how far down on the waitlist you are means how far down from first pick you are. The first person on the waitlist gets first pick, the second person gets second pick and so on.
